When you say that the Shards of Alara release event will be held at 12:00pm sharp, is that the time that we will be opening our packs and building our decks, or the time that our decks must be built and that round 1 pairings will begin?

I am participating in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 5th, but I would very much like to attend the Shards of Alara release event.

The Run for the Cure is 5K and begins at 9:00am. In previous years I was finished before 11:00am, and I will be downtown, so I should be able to make it to L.A. Mood before registration ends at 11:30am.

P.S. Do we know what the release card is?

The release card is the Ajani you already have Marco.

By the way, Marco, I had to leave as soon as I was done the tournament, so I didn't see how the top 8 went, did you win?

No... Jack made it into the Top 8 (good), but then knocked me out in the first round of the Top 8 (bad). And what did I get for finishing first over all, the only player with a 5-1 record? 1 pack! That was disappointing! The Top 4 split the prizes (a good number of packs considering the Bottom 4 only got 1 pack each). Also disappointing was losing to Jack game 1 because I didn't draw a Forest with an opening hand that included Woolly Thoctar, Rhox War Monk, and Jhessian Infiltrator. Or game 2 when he played a timely Sigil Blessing to save his four 2/2's and one 1/1 from being wiped away by my Jund Charm, which would have left only my Court Archers on the board...

As dissappointing as not being able to seal the deal when your opponent is on 1 and you are on twenty? ;-P Seriously though one pack? That hurts, 9-16 out first round got a single pack of eventide even, so it hardly seems fair. (And I could have beat Jack too, he was my first round opponent *LOL*)

Are we talking draft or sealed contructed? Will this be done by 4:00?

Release is sealed deck, with special rules (you must play within the colours of your shard of choice). As for when it will be done, who can say, it depends on how many come out for it.

This is somewhat unrelated but seeing how there isn't a post for the release I'll post it here.

This is for the rules dispute at the end of the release:
*****
300.2. A phase or step in which players receive priority ends when the stack is empty and all players pass in succession. No game events can occur between turns, phases, or steps. Simply having the stack become empty doesn't cause such a phase or step to end; *********all players have to pass with the stack empty. Because of this, each player gets a chance to add new things to the stack before that phase or step ends.**********
313.1. As the end of turn step begins, all abilities that trigger "at end of turn" go on the stack. (See rule 410, "Handling Triggered Abilities.") Then the active player gets priority and players may play spells and abilities.

Does anyone know Justin Raymond's contact info? I'm trying to get in touch with him about something MTG related, and I have no idea how. Can someone give me his e-mail address or tell him to e-mail me?
