Comicbooklady's Previews Highlights
July

I thought I would try to each month highlight some interesting product that is in the latest Previews to generate preorders. Remember, the stuff in the July Previews will be shipping starting in September....so it is not too early to think about Halloween or even Christmas shopping!

Halloween Comics instead of Candy!
Speaking of Halloween, it's time to order your Halloween Mini Comics. Last year I made up mixed packages of 5 of each of the comics for people to give away at Halloween instead of candy. They were a great success! This year's titles include Scary Godmother, Archie's Laugh, Snarked!, Donald Duck,Casper's Scare School, Fraggle Rock, Smurfs, Mameshiba On the Loose.

Buffy Season 9
Joss Whedon and Andrew Chambliss (Vampire Diaries) work together to write season 9 of Buffy in comics!

Drinky Crow
Cool t-shirts and party light strands based on Tony Millionaire's Drinky Crow character. Everyone needs a t-shirt with a drunken crow on it!

DC Relaunch
The relaunch of 52 DC titles begins, too many to name here but let us know which ones you want on your list. Check out this list here. Also special note, Canadian Jeff Lemire will be doing Animal Man and Frankenstein Agent of SHADE.

Marzi TP
A story about a young girl growing up in communist Poland. It is "a compelling and powerful coming of age story that portrays the harsh realities of life behind the Iron Curtain while maintaining the everyday wonders and curiosity of childhood."

IDW
IDW is launching a couple more "it was popular in the 80's" licensed comic book titles....Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Game of Thrones comic book.
Self explanatory. Board Game sold out. I can't find the pocketbook anywhere in the city. Blame it on the popular HBO tv series!

Walking Dead TV Action Figures
Don't groan you knew it would happen! from McFarlane Toys

Walking Dead TV Board Game
Take on the role of Rick, Andrea or one of the other survivors and scrounge for weapons and tools, keep your eyes open but watch your back! from Crytozoic Games.

Walking Dead Comic Board Game
The difference is in the art...I think. This game can be played solo as well as cooperative, brought to you by Zman Games.

Walking Dead Halloween Costumes
Pre-orders only, we will not be stocking these. Rick Grimes, Decomposed Zombie, Little Girl Zombie, and Decayed Zombie adult masks, etc, you get the idea. Check out the Previews at the counter for pics and details of these and other Halloween costumes offered.
So check out July's previews and give us your preorders before July 22.

Upcoming: The New Phyrexia Game Day Extravaganza!

Hello, Magic players!

As you know, one month following a set's release is the set's Game Day. This June 12th, join me and your fellow players at L.A. Mood to compete for prizes and glory in a New Phyrexia Standard event!

When: Sunday, June 12th. 10:00 am registration, 11:00 am start time.

Entry Requirements: One (1) Standard-legal deck and sideboard. Decklist required, and required for eligibility for the factionalized deck prizes. No entry fee.

Format: Swiss rounds with no cut to Top 8. Top 8 prizes are awarded based on standings after the Swiss rounds.

Prizes: All participants receive a copy of the participation prize: The impressive full-art Priest of Urabrask (while supplies last)

Top 8 finishers will also receive a copy of the enormous full-art Myr Superion.

New Phyrexia's game day will once again feature factionalized decks! The top two placements with a factionalized deck (min. 10 cards of one faction and no cards of the other) will also receive a copy of Myr Superion!

In addition, New Phyrexia Game Day will again feature two exciting side events: $15 Keep-What-You-Draft 8-4 NPH/MBS/SOM Drafts, and $15 Standard Win-A-Box 8-man queues!

In order to help ensure the side events fire, I'm strongly encouraging everyone to e-mail me ahead of time to "pre-queue" for a side event. Pre-queuing doesn't cost you a penny and there's no commitment to play - it's simply expressing your interest in drafting or Win-A-Box events so I can offer clear numbers to other interested players on Game Day! All entrants into side events will receive an additional copy of Priest of Urabrask and the first-place finisher will receive a copy of Myr Superion! (while supplies last).

As always, questions, comments and suggestions can be e-mailed to lamoodmagic@gmail.com. Pre-queue requests too!

L.A. Mood is proud to announce all the details for the upcoming National Qualifier Tournament!

Hello, Magic players of all of London! As you've likely heard by now, L.A. Mood has been selected to hand out to one lucky player a personal invitation to compete in the Canadian National Magic Championships!

So, how are we to decide on which player to send to this prestigious event? With a gentlemanly Standard Tournament, of course! Our National Qualifier Tournament is being held on Saturday, April 23rd. Registration opens at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 10:45 a.m., with the tournament beginning strictly at 11:00 a.m.

The Main Event!

Entry into our Tournament is a $10 fee, payable at the door. This $10 fee included both the cost of entry and a free lunch voucher for Los Comales, good for one Burrito or Chimichanga and a side of fries.

All players will be required to submit the following to the tournament organizer (myself) at time of entry:

- One (1) complete, legibly written or typed decklist detailing the exact name and number of each of the cards in your deck and sideboard, which must each be 60 and 15 cards, respectively.

Failure to submit a decklist may result in your expulsion from the tournament.

Important! This tournament is 32K and run at a Competitive REL. This means that the rules of Magic will be strictly enforced, including the time limit of 50 minutes per round!

The tournament is Swiss Rounds, like a Standard FNM, with Top 4 or Top 8 playoffs depending on attendance. Playoffs have no time limit but players are expected to maintain a reasonable pace of play.

In addition to the National Invition, Top 8 or Top 16 finishers (depending on attendance) will be eligible for additional prizes!

Side Events!

So long as store product supplies and interest exists, Side Events will be run throughout the day. These Side Events will consist of:

1) 8-man Standard Single-Elimination Win-A-Box.

2) 8-man MBS/SOM/SOM Draft Single-Elimination tournaments with 8-4 draft payout.

All Side event entry fees are $15. Sealed product and lands are provided for Draft side events. Side Events will begin as soon as table space has been secured for the expected duration of the event.

And that's it! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or comments regarding this exciting Magic opportunity! lamoodmagic@gmail.com
