Free RPG Day 2008

Our first Free RPG Day was a great success! I didn't know what to expect so soon after D&D Day, but we had a lot of repeat customers from that day. D&D 4th Edition, Hunter, Pathfinder, and Tunnels and Trolls were among the games being played in the basement that day! Many people took advantage of the great RPG sales we had on during the day, making them 50% of our sales for the day!

After an interesting mixup with Wizards, it looks like our FNMs are back on track! Here are all the magic dates for July -- and the July FNM card is Wall of Roots. Zomg!

Also, those of you who have been paying attention will be aware that with the changes in Wizard's organized play policy, starting in the near future we will be eligible to host larger events, including prereleases and possibly even GP Trials! Be sure to post here or come and find Justin to tell him what you think about these changes, and what you'd like to see happen!

Worldwide D&D Day, June 7, 2008

D&D Day was a great success! The morning and afternoon sessions were full, keeping our 5 DM's quite busy! Congratulations to Courtney for winning the door prize of Keep on the Shadowfell Adventure! Many thanks to all those who participated it was great to see the new faces! Our sales on 4th Ed were brisk and we sold out of Player's Handbooks by Saturday and sold out again of a restock on Monday. But never fear more Player's Handbooks are coming in today!

Mood Comics & Games is the best place to celebrate being a "knight of the dinner table"! Our Simpsons Free Comic Book Day window display, brought in many curious people days before the event.

Much preparation, mathematics, calculating, & maneuvering went into placing all these comics onto one table .....mmm...free comics....


Despite the rain, what a great day it turned out to be! Thank you Great and Loyal Customers for making Free Comic Book Day a huge success! I know we had way more people through the door than ever before! We gave out FCBD bags to each person who came in and went through 500 of them by 1:30! whew!

Shadowmoor Release Party!

In honor of the release of Shadowmoor, we're having a party, and you're invited!

The release will be Sunday May 4th and will begin at 10am.

The event will be run in the same fashion as the Morningtide release was, with 4 rounds and everyone with three or more wins receiving prizes.

In particular:

4 wins will win you 9 packs.
3 wins and a draw will win you 6 packs.
3 wins and a loss will win you 3 packs.

Note, these prizes are the bare minimum, and the more people who attend, the more prizes the winners will get! And there will be a lot of door prizes as well, so no one will leave empty handed!

The entry cost will be $25, and will purchase your sealed pool, as well as contribute to the prize fund! As well, Wizards is going to send us a bunch of great promos (including those Vexing Shushers...) so you should be sure to come out!
